DU Admissions 2016: Students Battle Long Queues, Heat On Day 2

The first day of admissions at Delhi University was chaotic to say the least. The Quint captured the madness on the ground, and found that students and parents alike were not up to speed with the new online procedure. And the varsity was in no position to handle the pressure.

The second day wasn’t as bad, as large numbers of students were able to secure admission seats in colleges. As part of the procedure, they handed in their documents for verification. The next step for them is to pay the fees online.

While the capital’s June humidity bore on, the second day of admissions was without a doubt better than the first. As more students managed to complete their admissions process, we also saw triumphant parents leave the campus, relieved that their children have their admission in hand.

Students, who were making their way to colleges for the first time today, were confused by the online admission process.

The ongoing boycott of the admissions by the Delhi University Teacher’s Association (DUTA) also seemed to take a toll on the process, as the university had to bring in non-teaching staff to carry out the process as smoothly as possible.
