A chocolate replica of the Berlin Wall is being made in France, to mark the 30th anniversary of the fall of the infamous structure. One ton of chocolate – shipped from Madagascar – is being used to build the wall, which will stand 2.5 metres tall and six metres wide.
Patrick Roger, who was named "Best French Chocolatier" in 2000, also created a similar project ten years ago for the twentieth anniversary of the fall of the wall.
Roger says the biggest challenge will be transporting the eight sections of the wall to one of his seven chocolate shops in Paris, where it will be assembled prior to the anniversary.
On 9 November, at 10.30 am Paris time, Roger will knock down his creation and the public will be invited to take the chocolate pieces that have fallen.
He says the project is about unifying European citizens during a time of increased division among EU nations, as Brexit negotiations continue.
