Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a State visit to Palestine, UAE and Oman from 9-12 February 2018, the MEA said.
This will be the first ever visit by an Indian PM to Palestine and Oman and the second visit to UAE.
In Dubai, he will be addressing the Sixth World Government Summit as a ‘Guest of Honour’. He is also expected to meet the Indian community in UAE and Oman.
The visit to Palestine comes right on the heels of the recent visit of Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara to India on a four-day tour early in January.
Netanyahu also attended a mega-cultural gathering which was attended by top Bollywood actors, producers and directors as a part of ‘Shalom Bollywood’.
The two countries inked nine pacts to boost cooperation in key areas such as cyber security, gas and oil after extensive delegation-level talks between their prime ministers.
The two leaders also noted that the next meeting of the Joint Working Groups on Homeland and Public Security will be held in February 2018, the statement said. They reiterated the importance of building comprehensive cooperation in counter-terrorism, including cyber-space, the statement said.
Recently, India was one of the majority countries that defied US President Donald Trump on Thursday, 21 December, and voted in favor of a United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) resolution calling for the United States to drop its recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
India joined 127 other countries to vote in the UNGA in favour of the resolution.
