A day before the Maharashtra Assembly election results, senior Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Wednesday, 23 October has said that no party will be able to get a majority on its own, and that the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance will form the government.
Earlier, the exit polls revealed that the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance is easily getting a majority.
Talking to The Quint, Sanjay Raut claimed that the Shiv Sena will win more than 100 seats.
Raut also said that Sharad Pawar brought color and life to these otherwise-faded elections.

On the other hand, Raut is completely confident about the victory of Aaditya Thackeray, son of party president Uddhav Thackeray, who was contesting the election for the first time and said that everyone in Maharashtra wants him to lead the state.

Sanjay Raut hopes that a strong opposition will be found in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. Speaking to The Quint, the Shiv Sena MP said that with the entry of NCP President Sharad Pawar, not only did the election come alive, but opposition parties are also going to benefit from it.
“Sharad Pawar has brought color to these elections. The elections seemed dull but Pawar infused life into it. The opposition will definitely benefit from this in some seats. After the voting in Maharashtra on 21 October, some exit polls showed BJP's lone majority. However, Raut contradicted this and said that only a coalition will form the government.

It must be noted that for the Assembly elections, there was a long struggle in Maharashtra for seat sharing between BJP and Shiv Sena. But eventually an agreement was reached upon which gave 164 seats to BJP and 124 seats to Shiv Sena.
