Sharif Receives Flak From Indian Politicians for His UN Address

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indian National Congress (INC) have come out all guns blazing against Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s address at the UNGA, questioning the neighbouring country’s “complete denial” of terrorism that stems from its soil.

In his speech, Sharif attacked India over the Kashmir issue saying, “Kashmiris want freedom from India”.

He also invoked slain Hizbul Mujahideen Chief Burhan Wani’s name during the speech and called him a “young leader” whose life was cut short by the Indian armed forces. The Pakistani Prime Minister also demanded the release of all Kashmiri political prisoners from Indian jails. Additionally, he pitched Pakistan’s bid to the Nuclear Suppliers Group.
