Ajit Singh, a retired IAS officer got his gold medal at 81 years of age for scoring the highest marks in the LLB examination in 1969. The octogenarian waged a 47-year-long battle against the University of Rajasthan and won the case on Thursday.
Ajit Singh fought his own case and appeared in court 300 times before the final verdict. He said that the court was kind enough to grant him the stay order that no other student was going to be awarded until a decision was taken in this case. He insisted that this medal was his right and he wanted to assert his right.
