A four-year-old girl was beaten up and robbed inside the lift of a residential building in suburban Trombay, informed the Mumbai Police.
The incident came to light on Wednesday, 14 November, after the CCTV footage of the was published on some websites.
The 2-minute long video showing the accused Rizwana Begum, brutally thrashing and robbing the girl in the lift, went viral.
A senior police official said that the accused was arrested on 15 November under IPC section 394 (voluntarily causing hurt while committing robbery). The police also recovered robbed items after she was arrested. The case is still being investigated by the police.
