1. Cong Might Have a Post-Poll Tie-Up With SP-BSP: Digvijaya Singh

“BJP will not even get 200 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls,” senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh told The Quint in an exclusive interview ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Singh spoke about various issues including the Congress’ alliance with SP-BSP in UP and AAP in Delhi, and the Balakot airstrikes. He also spoke about his candidature from Bhopal, a seat which has been a Bharatiya Janata Party stronghold for over two decades.

Speaking about the Lok Sabha polls, Singh asserted that even if there is no Gathbandhan between the Congress and SP-BSP, “BJP will still not get the seats they are eyeing.”

2. ‘Told Not to Contest Lok Sabha Polls’: Murli Manohar Joshi

Veteran BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi on Tuesday, 26 March, said that he has been told not to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Speaking to CNN-News18, he was quoted as saying, "Like LK Advani, I have been told not to contest."

Joshi is currently a member of Parliament from the Kanpur constituency in Uttar Pradesh. From 2009 to 2014, he was an MP from the Varanasi constituency, which was from where PM Narendra Modi subsequently contested.

In the 13th over of the Royals’ innings, KXIP captain and spinner Ravichandran Ashwin ‘mankaded’ Jos Buttler, who was then going strong at 69 (off 43 balls). This was the first-ever instance of a cricketer ‘Mankading’ another in the Indian Premier League which is now in its 12th season.

4. ‘Go Back, Ravi Shankar Prasad’ Chants Greet the Minister in Patna

Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Tuesday, 26 March, was greeted by chants of ‘Go back’ from supporters of businessman and BJP leader RK Sinha at the Patna airport.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, Sinha’s supporters can be seen shouting slogans of ‘Ravi Shankar Prasad, go back’ and ‘RK Sinha Zindabad’ over Prasad getting the ticket for the Patna Saheb seat.

5. Actor Jaya Prada Joins BJP – The 5th Party of Her Career

Veteran actor and former Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Prada joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday, 26 March, just days before the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections.

Prada will contest from Uttar Pradesh's Rampur, where she will face senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan.

Notably, this is the fifth political party that Jaya Prada is joining. In the past, she had been part of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Samajwadi Party (SP), Amar Singh's Rashtriya Lok Manch and the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD).

6. No Decision Yet on Congress-AAP Tie-Up in Delhi: Sheila Dikshit

Delhi Congress President Sheila Dikshit addressed a press conference on Tuesday, 26 March, where she was expected to announce the party's decision regarding an alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Delhi for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2019.

However, no announcement pertaining to the alliance was made. Responding to a reporter’s question Dikshit said, “When a decision will be taken then we will inform the media. Ultimately decision is to be taken by Rahul Gandhi as he is the party president; all will abide by what he decides.”

Earlier, Congress leader PC Chacko had said that party President Rahul Gandhi would take the final decision on Tuesday itself.
