1. Stand With Kerala and Karnataka
There's still some – actually a lot of – goodness left in this country. As Kerala battles its worst floods of the century, which has so far killed 357 people in the state, people from across the country seem to have come together to help them get back on their feet.
Take for example, Anupriya, a young girl from Tamil Nadu's Vizhuppuram, who donated her entire savings – Rs 9,000 – towards the Kerala flood relief fund. Or another good Samaritan in Bangalore – a guava seller – who gave his five baskets of guavas, all that he had to sell for the day, to a collection drive.
In the morning, the Indian Navy was in for a pleasant surprise when it chanced upon a ‘thanks’ painted across a rooftop for their rescue efforts in Kerala.
For Kerala itself, it's a tough time. Our reporter Rahul Nair who's travelling across the state to take stock of the floods, captured the NDRF in action.
The Quint travelled to the NDRF camp at Ad Lux Exhibition and Convention Centre on the outskirts of Ernakulam district from where the rescue teams are picking up relief material to deliver it to those in need.
In Karnataka, the situation is grim too, where rains continued incessantly in Kodagu district. Our reporter Arun Dev brings you this heartwarming story of how residents of Suntikoppa in Karnataka's Kodagu district turned the three largest buildings in their town into rescue camps – a hall adjacent to a Shiva temple, St Mary’s church and a local madrasa.

3. BJP Falling Short of Majority If Elections Held Today: Survey
The Bharatiya Janata Paty (BJP), which came to power in 2014 with a majority on its own, would fall short of the magic number if elections were conducted today, shows the India Today-Karvy Insights Mood of the Nation (MOTN) Survey.

4. Asian Games: Vinesh Phogat Bags Gold, Lakshay Wins Silver
More medals on Day 2 of the Asian Games and yes it was the usual suspects once again. Wrestlers and shooters making India proud in Indonesia. Rifle shooter Deepak Kumar and – a very happy – 19-year-old Lakshay both bagged silver medals in their events before Vinesh capped off the day with a Gold medal in wrestling, her second big medal this year after her CWG win.
