The Indian Coast Guard on Sunday rescued 23 workers stranded overnight on a flooded barge in the Arabian Sea.
Dredger Ibis sent a distress signal after ramming into a boulder four kilometres south of the Old Mangaluru Port on Saturday evening. Indian Coast Guard ship, Amartya, which was on patrol, could only rescue four workers out of a total 27 due to bad weather conditions on Saturday.
All the remaining sailors were rescued on Sunday as rescue operations resumed in the morning.
