ISRO Successfully Launches Seventh IRNSS Navigational Satellite

The satellite will help strengthen India’s navigational satellite system.

India moved closer to having its own navigation satellite system when the seventh and last in the series of the constellation of Regional Navigation Satellite System, IRNSS-1G on board PSLV-C33, was launched from the spaceport of Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh on Thursday.

ISRO had launched the sixth navigation satellite IRNSS-1F on 10 March.

According to ISRO officials, the total cost of all the seven satellites was Rs 1,420 crore.

The launch took place at 12:50 pm.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the scientists of ISRO on their achievement.
