Senior IPS Officer Amitabh Thakur met Anant Kumar Singh, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs and requested for security detail for himself and his wife Nutan Thakur, alleging that he had been threatened by Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Thakur said that Singh assured him that “everything as per law and circumstances will be done.”
Thakur has also requested the Home Ministry for a CBI probe into the charges of rape filed against him by a Ghaziabad-based woman, a day after he accused Mulayam Singh of threatening him. Thakur called the filing of the FIR a “return gift” from the Samajwadi Party supremo and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister.
Survival Without Mending Ways
Thakur’s wife Nutan, a social activist, complained about state minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati’s illegal property to the Lokayukta and immediately after started receiving threat calls, the Senior IPS Officer added.
Thakur has alleged that Mulayam Singh asked him to “mend his ways” after his wife’s complaint to the Lokayukta, and has said that he has the recording of a conversation with the Samajwadi Party chief.
Sri Ramvir Thakur, Mulayam’s relative in Jasrana, conspired and perpetrated an attack on me, but I managed to survive. Mulayam Singh Yadav called me and said that the result will be worse than Jasrana if I don’t do what he says.

Thakur lodged an FIR naming Gayatri Prasad Prajapati, the Mining Minister in Akhilesh Yadav’s government, and many others, alleging that the cases of rape and other charges were “false”, and that the couple was being “framed” for standing up to them.
