The Quint's election juggernaut reaches Madhepur, a politically charged seat in Bihar. Once Lalu Yadav's bastion, the seat is now a political battlefield for Sharad Yadav. The veteran leader speaks on Opposition alliance & BJP's promises — and avoids questions on his political rival Pappu Yadav.
This time, Madhepur won't be a cakewalk for Sharad Yadav, who is facing JAP's Pappu Yadav. In 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Sharad Yadav was elected on an RJD ticket.
After refusing to answer questions on Lalu Yadav's forthcoming book, Yadav questioned BJP's "clean Ganga" initiative and said that democracy and the Constitution are under attack under the current government. On the question of Opposition's PM candidate, Yadav said, "Even in the past, Opposition has not declared a PM candidate. Who knew Morarji Desai in 1977? Was VP Singh projected as PM in 1989? Who knew about Deve Gowda in 1996?"
