Internet sensation Ranu Mondal won everyone’s hearts by singing Lata Mangeshkar’s ‘Ek Pyaar Ka Nagma Hai’, in the video that went viral. Thereafter, she appeared on the reality show Superstar Singer, where Bollywood singer and composer Himesh Reshammiya spotted her and offered her a song from his upcoming fiilm Happy Hardy And Heer.

The song, ‘Teri Meri Khaani’ was launched on Wednesday and Ranu Mondal along with Himesh Reshammiya attended the event. With a beaming smile on her face, Mondal thanked the singer-composer for giving her the opportunity to make her Bollywood debut with his film. She said that she’s grateful to him, the audience and God for blessing her with so much love.

Talking about how he decided to offer the song to Ranu Mondal, Himesh Reshammiya said, “When I heard her singing on the reality show, I thought that if she’s singing so well on a live show, she’d be the perfect fit for the song.”

“Salman bhai gave me my first break, and those songs became hit. Salim uncle (Salim Khan) had told me then that whenever you spot good talent, you must encourage them and you must give it back to the industry that has given so much to you.”

He also spoke about nepotism in the industry and said that it is something which has two sides to it. “While star kids get their first break much easily than outsiders, they also have to fight and rise above the expectations that have been set for them. If there’s reputed family in the industry which has worked so hard to reach this place, and their kid wants to enter the industry, then it shouldn’t be made into such a big issue,” Himesh said.
