2. High-Speed, Affordable Internet: Broadband Users Spoilt For Choice
There’s never been a better time to get a home broadband connection in India. The Netflix and Hotstar-esque video-streaming platforms will be pleased. With speeds ranging up to 100 Mbps and no data usage limit, the new high-speed internet also comes in an affordable package.
With prices starting from Rs 999, 100GB data limits and speeds up to 40Mbps, these are exciting days for anyone who can’t survive without the internet. All thanks to internet brands like Spectranet, ACT Fibernet and a few others.
Airtel and BSNL have shortchanged internet users in India with their mediocre speeds, and fair usage policy (FUP) that only offers limited data usage. But all that is now passé.

3. Don’t Download Images on WhatsApp, Hackers Could Steal Your Data
WhatsApp and Telegram’s end-to-end encryption is too safe for its own liking. This week, a security software company has reported that a malware vulnerability, on both the messaging platforms, has raised serious data security concern.
If the knowledge falls into the wrong hands, it could compromise data of millions of WhatsApp and Telegram users. As scary as this might sound, the threat has been notified to WhatsApp and Telegram, and has been fixed at the time of publishing this piece.
The report has been shared by Check Point Software Technologies, who have clearly indicated that downloading images and videos on your phone from these platforms could be riskier than they could imagine.

When I got my hands on the first Tekfusion earphones last year, I didn’t have much hopes, but for a brand that’s not counted among the elite, it’s not too bad.

5. TRAI Aims for Public Wi-Fi at Rs 20/GB, but Will It Happen Soon?
Happy days for internet users on the go may be around the corner, with the government gearing up to offer public Wi-Fi at knock-down prices.
However, there’s no mention of the speeds that may be offered, according to a report in The Times of India. But telecom experts reckon the project may give you 2Mbps, which is way below global standards.
