Good news for audiophiles, especially the one’s using Jio network, as the Reliance Jio has integrated Saavn into it music streaming app Jio Music.
The partnership which is valued at almost $1 billion, sees Saavn’s content arrive on Jio’s platform.
In addition to this, Reliance will also invest up to rupee equivalent of $100 million for growth and expansion of the platform into one of the largest streaming services in the world. Of this, rupee equivalent of $20 million will be invested upfront.

Jio Music currently sources content from all the major Indian and international labels, with over 16 million HD songs across 20 languages. Saavn, on the other hand, has acquired rights to over 36 million music tracks.
The Indian music market is being dominated by Gaana, but Jio Music’s integration with Saavn gives Reliance Jio the upper edge now.
Jio Music currently allows users to stream songs at a high bit rate (according to the users connectivity), and also gives them an option to download the song for free. To download songs from Saavn, one had to buy their premium subscription, but with the partnership coming through, users might to able to take advantage of Saavn’s extensive portfolio.
Reliance Jio also went on to add that it will continue to build on Saavn’s original programming and originals created with leading artists, and the deal will also combine the streaming media expertise of Saavn with the connectivity and digital ecosystem of Reliance Jio.
