Playing with nostalgia has been the flavour of many phone manufacturers, with old models making a comeback in a new avatar.

Which is why the news of Motorola relaunching the Moto Razr flip phone hardly comes as a surprise. What does excite us about the phone is its refined design and a completely new use case.

For this phone, as per the leaks we’ve spotted on the internet via @evleaks, Motorola is using the folding display technology for its flip phone design, which will now be seen running on Android. In many ways, Moto Razr is coming back but everything has been changed to suit the taste of a modern smartphone user.

The phone is expected to launch on 13 November this week, getting dual display feature, and powered by Snapdragon 710 processor with 4GB RAM. It sports a 6 and 2-inch main and front display respectively. However, all this power will get backed up by a mere 2,510mAh battery.

But we’re excited to see if Motorola has made the best of using a foldable display, or does it merely come across like a gimmick. The front display on the outside, will most likely support video calls as well as provide notifications for calls, messages etc.

The image above shows that the Razr sports a hinge in the middle, which will make sure the display has durability and agile enough to be flipped numerous times.

While all this sounds fascinating, Moto Razr, with all this tech isn’t going to come cheap. From what the reports suggest, you’re looking at a price tag of over $1,500 (Rs 1,05,000 approx), taking it closer to the price of the Samsung Galaxy Fold in the market.

With the foldable display market in its infancy, pricing was always going to be a challenge and it’ll be intriguing to see how Motorola wants to position the Razr in 2019.
