Along with its latest flagship, the Galaxy S10, Samsung is set to launch its foldable phone at this year’s Unpacked event on 20 February. Samsung confirmed the news on Monday with a teaser on its social media channels. The phone in question could be the Samsung Galaxy Fold or Galaxy F, that was showcased at its annual developer conference last November, NDTV reported.
The teaser begins with Korean text that folds into the tagline "The future unfolds" in English. The animation is followed by the number 10, that Samsung has been teasing for the Galaxy S10 since the start of this year.
Samsung had announced on 11 January that it will roll out its next flagship smartphone, Galaxy S10 in February at the ‘Unpacked’ event.
The Unpacked event will be hosted at San Francisco's Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on 20 February to showcase the new Galaxy models, with a separate event scheduled for London, Yonhap news, a South Korean daily reported.
The gathering is reported to bring together 3,000 journalists and officials from Samsung’s global partners.
Samsung's planned roll-out of the new Galaxy model is about a week earlier than usual. The tech giant usually releases its new Galaxy smartphones at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in late February.
It will also be Samsung's first Unpacked gathering in San Francisco, close to the headquarters of arch-rival, Apple.
Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S3 in London and hosted Unpacked events for the Galaxy S4 and S8 in New York.
