It’s happening guys. New report says that more people are now ditching their iPhones in favour of Android devices. This comes at a time, when the same report from BankMyCell, quoted in this CNET piece, highlights that loyalty of iPhone users has fallen to all-time low over the past few quarters.

The report is based on a survey conducted by tracking over 38,000 users, who trade-in their smartphone, either for an upgrade or switch to another brand.

Surprisingly, many iPhone X users have made the uncharted move to Android, by preferring Samsung phones over other brands, like OnePlus or even Google.

The loyalty of iPhone user has dropped by 15 percent compared to last year, as observed through all the people who were tracked by the research firm. More than 25 percent of iPhone X users traded their device to move to another brand, which means, switching to Android.

Interestingly, around 18 percent of all iPhone users decided to move to a Samsung phone. All in all, BankMyCell was able to point that iPhone loyalty of users has dropped to its lowest since 2011, which will concern Apple, who’s already faced with low sales figures, ever since the iPhone X crossed the $1000 price mark in 2017.

Having said that, the report is citing a small sample size, which is why it’s better to take these figures with a pinch of salt, especially when more than 36 percent of users in the United States are said to be on Apple’s ecosystem.

Either way, Apple has its work cut out with respect to how its devices are sold and in demand from the consumers.

Users not deciding to upgrade their iPhone has also got to do with longer shelf life of the device, compared to most Android flagships in the market.

This invariably affects the sales numbers for the Cupertino-based giant, which is now eyeing for better prospects by focusing more on markets like India, where it’s still finding its feet, and up against more affordable devices from Xiaomi, OnePlus and Samsung as well.
