On Thursday, 20 September, Amazon launched 15 new Alexa products at an event in Seattle, USA. The new products range from new Echo speakers, car gadgets, to microwaves. Amazon has also introduced ways by which Alexa can now be added to third-party devices.
Here is a list of products that Amazon has announced:
ECHO DOT
Amazon says the team has packed a lot into this small Echo Dot and they claim that this product has better sound quality and is 70 percent louder.
“There’s a brand new mic array that gives it better performance. The driver is now much larger – we went from a 1.1” driver to a 1.6” driver so we can deliver more powerful sound with lower distortion and enhanced bass reproduction. And, we’re now driving the speaker with more power, which helps us increase the overall max volume.”
The pre-order for Echo Dot has begun.
ECHO SUB
Amazon has launched ‘Echo Sub’ to add rich bass to its Echo music experience. It can be paired with Echo or Echo Plus for better sound quality.
ECHO INPUT
Echo Input has a slim device and it can be plugged into speakers using a 3.5mm audio cable or Bluetooth. This device has a four-microphone array which allows the user to use Alexa from across the room.
This product will be available later this year.
ECHO AUTO
Amazon has launched a new product called Echo Auto which according to Amazon has built the ultimate portable device for taking Alexa on the road.
According to Amizon, “It has an eight-microphone array that is designed specifically to handle noise in the car. So, even when there’s construction, or you’re cranking up the music with the air conditioning on high, Echo Auto can hear your requests.”
MICROWAVE
The microwave comes with a built-in ask Alexa button and give simple commands. This will help speed up the process of heating your food.
ALEXA GUARD
Alexa Guard integrates Echo devices to help customers protect their homes while they’re away.
“When Guard is on, Alexa can send you Smart Alerts with audio clips when specific sounds are detected, including breaking glass or smoke or CO2 alarms. Just set your Echo device to away mode when you’re heading out by saying, “Alexa, I’m leaving,” and Alexa will let you know if your Echo devices detects an unusual sound.”
ECHO WALL CLOCK
The new Echo Wall Clock will be compatible with Echo devices. The clock has LED around clock face to show the timer.
Echo Wall Clock will launch later this year.
