Airtel is doing its best Jio imitation by scurrying out numerous Airtel offers for its 4G users. But in order to get new consumers on board, the company is luring them with an attractive offer where you get 1GB 4G data for as low as Rs 25.

The company is offering 10 GB 4G/3G data on a recharge of Rs 259 along with any new 4G handset. Of this, 1 GB data will be instantly credited to the customer's account and additional 9 GB data can be claimed by the customer through MyAirtel App.

The special offer, which was introduced in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh last week, has now been extended across India and is available across all brands of 4G handsets.

So, what Airtel wants the new user to do is, get an Airtel 4G SIM, download the MyAirtel app and then get a chance to use 10GB data for the price of 1GB. Currently Airtel users pay around Rs 250 for 1GB.

The data will be valid for 28 days. Users can avail a maximum of three recharges within 90 days, on the offer.

This is Airtel’s third big initiative to tackle in the threat posed by Reliance Jio 4G in the country.

The telecom operator had introduced a similar scheme this year which promised users 1GB 4G data for Rs 51 but they never talked up the catch with the plan.

It’s not like Reliance Jio’s plans will cost you per GB as advertised, but they are at least better than what others have managed thus far.
