The 2016 Auto Expo is scheduled to begin tomorrow and is expected to receive heavy footfall. In order to avoid traffic jams on the DND Flyway, the toll road will be free from 8 am to 10 am and from 5 pm to 9 pm, according to a report in The Times of India.
The Expo is scheduled to take place at the India Expo Mart (IEM) in Greater Noida, between 5th February to 9th February 2016.
According to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the toll-free movement will only be available through the Noida toll plazas. Toll will be charged as usual at the Mayur Vihar toll plaza.
The decision comes after the SIAM officials estimated that a footfall of 7 lakh visitors is expected at the motor show. With the toll-free facility, visitors going to and returning from the event will be able to reach their destinations smoothly. The entire toll amount for all the vehicles passing through the toll road will be sponsored by SIAM. Additional staff and traffic marshals would also be deputed to regulate and ensure free movement.
