Virat Kohli has been one of Team India’s standout performers, but on Tuesday he placed the spotlight on Anushka. After catching ‘NH10’ in Melbourne, where India play Bangladesh on Thursday, the Indian vice-captain took to Twitter to get his message across, saying he was “blown away” by the thriller. 6,500 people retweeted Virat’s tweet within just three hours.
Anushka soon replied to her cricketer boyfriend’s tweet with a tweet.
The actress has been extremely supportive of the cricketer since the two officially announced their relationship last year. In fact, the young actress was spotted in the stands cheering Kohli on during India’s tour of England as well as Australia in 2014.
The couple has made news earlier during the World Cup. A week ago, Kohli hurled abuse at a journalist who he believed had written an article blaming Anushka’s presence in England for Kohli’s poor performance during the tour. The Indian team management played down the incident, calling it a case of mistaken identity, but the BCCI did warn Virat ‘to maintain the dignity of the Indian team’.
