After Virender Sehwag and Shikhar Dhawan, Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami has stepped up to support the families of the Pulwama attack martyrs.
The Indian cricketer made a donation of Rs 5 lakh to the CRPF families’ welfare fund on Monday and urged everyone else also help support the families of the brave soldiers in the armed forces who work tirelessly to protect India’s borders.
“Our soldiers give their lives to protect us, so now when their families need us we should also stand with them. I hope India also stands with them. This is a very tough time for their families and I would like to request everyone to come together in support of our brothers in the armed forces.”Mohammed Shami
Former India opener Virender Sehwag had said last week that the children of all the martyrs families will be provided free education at his 'Sehwag International School' if they wish to apply. "Nothing we can do will be enough, but the least I can do is offer to take complete care of the education of the children of our brave CRPF jawans martyred in #Pulwama in my Sehwag International School @SehwagSchool , Jhajjar. Saubhagya hoga," Sehwag wrote on his twitter handle.
The Vidarbha cricket team also announced that they would donate their entire Irani Cup winners' prize money for the welfare of the martyrs' families.
On Thursday, at least 40 CRPF paramilitary troopers were killed in a terror attack while several others are battling for their lives following what is being termed as the deadliest terrorist strike in three decades in the valley.
