Rohit Sharma Trolls Rishabh Pant, Asks Him to Babysit His Newborn
Rishabh Pant may be back in India after the Test series but Tim Paine’s ‘babysitter’ joke from the Boxing Day Test is still being carried forward.
On Wednesday, new father Rohit Sharma joined the trolling party and asked Pant to babysit his newborn daughter after the Indian keeper posted a picture of himself, captioned ‘good morning’.
Rohit’s reply - ‘Morning buddy. Heard your a good baby sitter, need one right now. Ritika will be quite happy’.
Rishabh Pant, much like all past digs at him, took this Tweet also in his stride and in fact did one better! He tweeted back to the one-day vice-captain trolling bowler Yuzvendra Chahal!
The joke started during the third Test of the four match series (that has since been won by India) where the stump mic picked up some banter between Rishabh Pant and Australia captain Tim Paine.
Paine at one stage raised Pant's omission from India's limited-overs squad, suggested his younger rival would have enough spare time as a result on his "holiday" to babysit his children and join one of the franchises in Australia's Big Bash Twenty20 league.
"You can come over for dinner. Do you babysit? I'll take my wife to the movies, you can look after the kids?" Paine was heard to say on the TV broadcast.
Pant responded by questioning Paine's appointment as Australia's "temporary captain" in the aftermath of a ball-tampering scandal in March that led to 12-month bans for then Australia captain Steve Smith and vice-captain David Warner.
