Watch: Virat & Co Hit the Nets Before Test Opener Against England

India started their tour of England and Ireland with a win over the Irish in two T20 matches, before defeating the English 2-1 in a match of the same format. Virat Kohli and co then lost the ODI series 1-2, and would be looking to end their English summer on a winning note when they play the five-match Test series, starting 1 August.

The series-opener against India will be a milestone Test for England as they will be taking the field for their 1,000th five-day match, at Edgbaston. On home turf, England have won 30 Tests and India have emerged winners on six occasions with 21 Tests ending in draws.

Edgbaston has hosted six Tests between the two sides, with England leading 5-0 on a head-to-head.

After their extra practice session on 29 July was washed out due to heavy rains, the men in blue had an intense practice session in Birmingham before they put on their whites.
