India and Pakistan – two countries born to freedom hours apart from each other, turn 70 this year. It’s not a hush-hush topic that under current circumstances, the relationship between the two neighbors is more than strained.

And yet, will it be too wishful a thinking to look forward to peace and brotherhood between the two counties? Asks Voice Of Ram, a Facebook group that has decided to celebrate the Indian Independence Day together with Pakistan. How? By gathering artists from both sides of the border to sing each other’s national anthems: Jana Gana Mana (India) & Pāk Sarzamīn (Pakistan). In short, a Peace Anthem.

Do you think this Peace Anthem has power to bring the two countries together? Let us know in the comments.

(Love your mother tongue? This Independence Day, tell The Quint why and how you love your bhasha. You may even win a BOL t-shirt! Sing, write, perform, spew poetry – whatever you like – in your mother tongue. Send us your BOL at bol@thequint.com or WhatsApp it to 9910181818.)
