Troops representing India and Pakistan exchanged sweets to mark Eid celebrations on the Line of Control in Poonch district on Tuesday.

The gestures marked the occasion of ‘Id-ul-Zuha’ with troops exchanging sweets at Poonch-Rawalakot Crossing Point and Tattapani-Mendhar Crossing Point in Krishna Ghati Sector as well as Tattapani-Mendhar Crossing Point in Krishna Ghati Sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

Exchange of sweets and greetings is a regular practice from both the countries, especially on the occasions of Diwali and Eid.

The defence spokesperson said the event is a testimony to goodwill and will certainly strengthen the efforts towards maintaining peace and tranquillity along the Line of Control.
