The Democratic front-runner in the 2016 US presidential election, Hillary Rodham Clinton, pressed the State Department to expedite the release of 55,000 pages of emails from her tenure as Secretary of State.

At a campaign stop in Cedar Falls, Iowa, Hillary Clinton told reporters that she wants the e-mails from her tenure as Secretary of State to be made public as soon as possible.

Clinton spoke after a federal judge rejected a State Department proposal to release a portion of the emails by next January. The Court said that the agency must instead perform a roll-out of the emails over time.

Hillary added that the State Department has a process for releasing those e-mails, and she will abide by that process. Clinton says she believes the e-mails will show how hard she worked with diplomats and development experts during her tenure.

The disclosure that Hillary conducted State Department business on a private e-mail account had triggered a huge controversy from the very inception of her campaign this year and raised questions about her commitment to transparency.
