After eight years of being in the White House, one would imagine the former US President and the first lady to take a step back, enjoy their days and lie low.
But for Barack and Michelle Obama, that’s not going to be the case.
The Obamas are already gearing up for their next project – The Obama Foundation.
In a video released a couple of hours before Donald Trump was sworn-in as the 45th US President, the Obamas revealed what the future holds for them.
After taking a well-deserved vacation and spending time with their family (including lots of sleep), they will get back to work, which includes the presidential foundations.
“The center will be based on the South side of Chicago, but it will have projects all over the city, the country, and the world. More than a library or museum, it will be a living working center for citizenship."
The Obamas also asked Americans to contribute, pitch-in their ideas and opinions.
"This will be your presidential center just as much as it ours, so we want you to tell us what we should be thinking about as we get to work," Michelle said.
The former President concluded with asking for people’s participation in the project.
"True democracy is a project that's much bigger than any of us. It's bigger than any one person, any one president, any one government. It's a job for all of us. And we look forward to joining you in the effort as fellow citizens," Barack said.
