Nawaz Sharif resigned as Pakistan Prime Minister after the country’s Supreme Court disqualified him over the Panamagate case on 28 July.

Sharif’s resignation has, quite predictably, sparked political turmoil in the country. A number of journalists and politicians took to Twitter to weigh in on the “historic” decision and what it means for Pakistan.
