‘PM Modi Has Provided Maximum Income Guarantee to His 15 Friends’

The Congress president also reiterated his promise to provide a minimum income guarantee to the poor on Tuesday, while accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of providing a "maximum income guarantee to 15 of his friends."

Targeting the Modi government over unemployment, Gandhi accused the PM of spending five years "wasting India's time telling one lie after another."

Emphasising on his party’s commitment towards farmers, the Congress president said:

“We have waived farm loans in the three states where we’ve won elections. We’ve committed that in 2019, we will have a government that will make up for all the crimes that Narendra Modi has committed against farmers over the last five years.”

‘Each Poor Person in India Will Have Minimum Income’

On Monday, Rahul Gandhi had announced that his party would ensure a minimum income guarantee for every poor in the country if it returns to power after the Lok Sabha polls due in April-May.

“The Congress has decided to take a historic decision... The Congress-led government is going to give Minimum Income Guarantee. This means, each poor person in India will have minimum income. This means there will be no hungry, poor person in India,” he said.

Gandhi made the remarks at the 'Kisaan Abhaar Sammelan' held in Raipur to express gratitude to Chhattisgarh's people, particularly farmers, for voting the party to power in the state after a gap of 15 years.
