EC Gives ‘Pressure Cooker’ Symbol to TTV Despite His ‘Hat’ Request

Dhinakaran, who filed his nomination earlier, will be contesting as an independent candidate in the RK Nagar bypoll.

• The Election Commission has allocated the ‘pressure cooker’ as a symbol to ousted leader of AIADMK TTV Dhinakaran, for him to contest in the upcoming RK Nagar bypoll.
• Dhinakaran who filed his nomination earlier will be contesting as an independent candidate in the bypoll which will be held on 21 December.
• The EC, by its 23 November order, had allotted the 'two leaves' symbol to the faction of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E Palaniswami and O Panneerselvam and set aside its own interim order granting the 'hat' symbol to the Sasikala-Dhinakaran group.
