The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has crossed the halfway mark as per Election Commission trends, leading in 125 seats, while Tejashwi Yadav led Mahagathbandhan is ahead in 110 seats.

The earlier trend showed Mahagathbandhan leading, the Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) emerging as the single-largest party, and the BJP emerging as the biggest party within NDA.

Meanwhile, the RJD exuded confidence that Mahagathbandhan will form the government in the state.

The party handle tweeted that they are in touch with candidates and workers from all fields and the information received from all the districts is in the favour of the Grand Alliance.

“Counting will occur by late night. The government of the Grand Alliance is sure. Bihar has changed. All candidates and counting agents remain in the counting hall until the counting of votes is completed,” tweeted the RJD.

BJP MP Manoj Tiwari on Tuesday said that he has been satisfied with the trends of the Bihar election result so far and has asserted that the NDA will form the next government in the state.

“People of Bihar believe in good governance of the NDA government in Bihar. As per the trends till 2 pm, we are going to form the next government under the leadership of Nitish Kumar and with the blessings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi," Tiwari said.

Meanwhile, BJP Bihar Chief Sanjay Jaiswal dismissed speculations about the party snubbing Nitish Kumar.

When asked about if Nitish Kumar will lead the Bihar government if NDA wins, Jaiswal said: “The issue has been cleared by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party chief JP Nadda much before the elections,” reported PTI.

As soon as the Mahagathbandhan’s seats dwindled, BJP MP from West Bengal’s Asansol, Babul Supriyo, took a jibe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav by saying the Mahagathbandhan, or MGB, stands for “Mar Gaye Bhai”.

NDA Will Form Govt Under Nitish Kumar: Bihar JD(U) Chief

Bihar JD(U) chief Vashishtha Narayan Singh exuded confidence that the NDA will form the government under the leadership of Nitish Kumar.

“I have been saying this for a long time that the NDA will form the government under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The opposition ran a misleading campaign with several allurements to woo voters,” news agency PTI quoted Singh as saying.

When Singh was asked about who will lead the government, he said that “Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP chief JP Nadda have made it amply clear on several occasions as to who will form the government,” PTI reported.

While the Congress is still struggling to keep pace, Bihar spokesman Rajesh Rathor is confident that things will change in their favour. "We are not far behind, things will change in our favour," he told news agency PTI.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Shatrughan Sinha tweeted saying that “It's your well deserved time, era and a great moment for Tejashwi Yadav.”

The earlier trend showed Tejashwi Yadav-led Mahagathbandhan leading as the counting of votes began on Tuesday, 10 November.

Janata Dal (United) spokesperson KC Tyagi said that JD(U) is losing because of the coronavirus pandemic.

“We were not defeated by RJD or Tejashwi Yadav but nation’s curse – COVID-19,” said Janata Dal (United) spokesperson KC Tyagi to NDTV.

“We are paying for past 70 years of deterioration In Bihar, " said the senior Janata Dal-United leader.

“A year ago, RJD couldn't win a single seat in Lok Sabha polls. As per Lok Sabha results, JDU and allies were to win over 200 seats. In last one year, nothing has harmed brand Nitish or added to brand RJD, we're losing only due to COVID19 impact,” Tyagi was quoted as saying by ANI.

Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) leader and Lalu Yadav’s son Tej Pratap blessed his younger brother Tejashwi Yadav to emerge as a winner. In a subtle tweet, Tej Pratap wrote: “Tejashwi Bhavah Bihar”, showing confidence in RJD’s performance.

BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya tweeted that BJP is doing much better than what the exit polls had predicted.

Early trends showed the RJD emerging as the single-largest party, and the BJP emerging as the biggest party within NDA.
