Joint candidate of the Congress and National Conference for south Kashmir’s Anantnag Lok Sabha seat, GA Mir, on Tuesday said that he will withdraw if Governor’s rule is not imposed in the state.

This comes a day after the Anantnag bypolls were deferred by the Election Commission to 25 May. Eight people were killed in violence during the by-election for the Srinagar seat on Sunday and two government schools were set ablaze in Pulwama and Shopian districts.

Mir has opposed the postponement of election in the constituency.
