We immediately rushed to the spot and found three dogs dead. We questioned the locals in the basti but no one come forward to provide details of the miscreant. The dogs used to enter a nearby farm house and the frustrated owner used to chase them away. We suspect that the farm house owner might have been involved in the killing

TOI reported that the shooting occurred in an eight-acre farm house belonging to a realtor named Akbar Nijamuddin. The police is still unsure about what weapon was used, and whether it is the owner or somebody he knows who is responsible for the incident.

The police are inquiring into the incident. They have registered a case against unidentified persons.

According to The Times of India, an FIR has been filed under Section 429 of the IPC (Mischief by killing or maiming cattle, or any animal over the value of Rs 50).

This is not the first instance of animal cruelty in Hyderabad. In July, three puppies were burnt alive.
