Rajinikanth Has No Future In Politics, Says Subramanian Swamy
Swamy claimed that proof on the actor’s alleged financial irregularities could knock down his political ambitions.
BJP leader Subramanian Swamy has taken on Rajinikanth yet again, following the actor's hints over joining politics. This time, Swamy told India Today that he has 'substantial proof' of financial irregularities by the actor, and advised him to not join politics.
In an interview to Rahul Kanwal, Swamy claimed that proof that he held on the actor's alleged financial irregularities could knock down his political ambitions. He added the image that Rajini currently maintained will not survive this revelation. Swamy said,
There are financial irregularities, and if it comes to light, it will be hard for him to continue in politics. His image will collapse, whatever has been hyped by the media.
"He should not come to politics," he warned.
Swamy's statement comes at a time when the BJP has openly claimed that Rajini’s entry into politics is a good move. Party president Amit Shah had said the system need such 'good people'.
On 19 May, days after the star met his fans in Chennai, Swamy had said,
He has no future in politics. A new generation of very educated Tamilians who are assertive, who are of influence, and they now want national politics to come to Tamil Nadu. He is unsuitable for becoming the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
Swamy is known to have a track record of pointing out financial irregularities and taking some of the country's most powerful leaders to court.
Even the National Herald case against Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Vice President Rahul Gandhi, is based on a private complaint by him. He had accused the mother son duo of conspiring to cheat and misappropriate funds in the Acquisition of Associated Journals Ltd (publisher of National Herald).
