1. Ravi Pujari Allegedly Threatens Accused in Thane Builder Suicide Case

A Congress corporator, one of the accused in the suicide case of builder Suraj Parmar, has alleged that he received a threat on Wednesday from the fugitive gangster Ravi Pujari.

2. German Bakery Blast Case: Senior Lawyers Fight Over ‘RDX’ Comment

The defence lawyer and the public prosecutor in the German bakery blast case locked horns on Thursday in the Bombay High Court over a comment.

Presenting an appeal against the death sentence accorded to Himayat Baig, the lone convict in the case, defence lawyer Mehmood Pracha made arguments about the seizure of RDX, for the second day in a row. At one point, Public Prosecutor Raja Thakre said, “He’s the best person to know all these materials.” This led to an argument.

3. Mumbai: Man Jumps Off Mall After Meeting Girl who Filed Rape Complaint

A 24-year-old man committed suicide by jumping off the fifth floor of a mall in Mumbai on Tuesday. He had come to meet his former girlfriend who had filed a rape case against him.

The man met her after getting bail but jumped off to his death after an argument. Cops are quizzing the girl to find out what exactly had happened. For full report click here.

4. Uzbek Murder: Mother, Sisters of Victim Recount Struggle With Cops

The mother and two sisters of murdered Uzbekistan national Shakhnoza Shukurova are in Delhi. The mother, Shokhista, has said that police officials initially investigating the case did not help them at all.

Shokhista and her daughters decided to approach the government. They would visit cyber cafés to look up addresses of government heads and send letters to them. They have visited the police headquarters at ITO, Delhi Secretariat and other offices of investigation agencies, but have so far received no help.

5. Kerala: Man Hacked to Death in Temple Over Illicit Relationship

A 34-year-old man, was hacked to death by a three-member gang in front of devotees inside the Idakkattukavu Sree Dharma Sastha temple, in Kerala on Wednesday.

One of the suspects was caught by local residents and handed over to the police. The other two are still missing. According to initial investigations, an illicit relationship with a woman was the cause of the murder. A case has been registered. Full report here.

6. AI Foots Hotel Bill of Staffer Held in Saudi for Smuggling

An Air India flight purser was detained in Saudi Arabia, with his passport being confiscated, for allegedly smuggling gold, although he was not arrested or imprisoned. The purser has been staying at a luxury five star hotel in Jeddah for the past six months, for which the airline had initially footed the bill.

Earlier this year Saudi customs found the purser carrying about 732 grams of gold (worth over Rs 19 lakh at current prices in Delhi). Suspecting smuggling, the employee was detained and his passport confiscated. He has now been suspended by Air India

The Saudi authorities are likely to decide on the staffer’s case by early next month and decide his future. For more read here.

7. Telangana: Maoists Kidnap Six TRS Leaders in Pusugubba Village

Six TRS leaders were kidnapped by armed Maoist militants at Pusugubba village in Telangana on Wednesday morning while they were meeting at one of the leader’s houses.

The role of the newly elected LJP MLA from Vaishali in Bihar, Raj Kumar Sah, has come under the legal scanner following allegations that he was instrumental behind the mob violence that broke on Wednesday.
