1.Banned Two-Finger Test Conducted on Bihar Rape Victim

The 17-year-old rape victim from Bihar had to undergo the banned two-finger test by doctors at Motihari Sadar hospital, police sources said.

The Telegraph reported that she was sent to Sri Medical Krishna Medical Hospital in Muzaffarpur to undergo the same test for the fifth time.

NCW member Sushma Sahu submitted her report on the rape incident to the panel chairperson in Delhi on Tuesday.

2. No Progress in Infosys Techie’s Murder Case, NCW Plans to Take the Matter to Centre

The National Commission for Women (NCW) took suo-moto cognisance of the murder of S Swathi – the 24-year-old techie from Infosys – and wrote to the DGP of Chennai and GM of Southern Railway seeking a report on the action taken so far.

Based on the report, NCW will decide on the further course of action, and if required it will constitute an inquiry committee which will submit its recommendations on the case to the government.

The Madras High Court too directed the Tamil Nadu government to submit a report with regard to the installation of CCTV cameras at important places.

3. NIA Officer Tanzil Ahmed’s Murderer Arrested in Noida by Special Task Force

The main accused in NIA official Mohammad Tanzil Ahmed’s murder was arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) of the Uttar Pradesh (UP) police after a12 hour operation on Tuesday in Noida, an official said.

The accused, Muneer was arrested along with two associates. He was in Noida for the last three days.

Soon after his arrest, the UP police, NIA officials and the STF have jointly begun his interrogation, who is alleged to have shot Ahmed two dozen times on 13 April when he was returning from a family wedding in Budayun.

4. Jisha Murder Case: Forensic Pyschologists From Gujarat to Assist SIT

Two forensic psychologists with the Directorate of Forensic Sciences (DFS) from Gujarat are assisting the SIT team from Kerala to investigate into Jisha’s murder.

The accused of the murder, Ameerul – a migrant labourer from Assam – was arrested in Tamil Nadu after a 50-day manhunt.

Times of India quoted an expert as saying:

Apart from the obvious sequence of events that led to the murder, Ameerul’s psychological profile drawn up by DFS includes in-depth details of his disturbed childhood, family and immediate relationships.

5. Police Finds Evidence in Murder of III Standard Boy in Jamshedpur

Investigation on the death of a class III student from Jamshedpur revealed that he fought bravely with his assailant before he was bludgeoned to death with bricks on Sunday.

According to The Telegraph, strands of the assailant’s hair was found in 10-year-old Ram Chandra Giri’s fists.

A police tracker dog sniffed his way from Ram Chandra’s bed on the first floor of the private hostel where he would stay, to the terrace where he was killed.

Police also found bloodstained imprints of an adult’s hand on the stairway to the terrace.

6. Minor Girl Raped by Two Men Inside in a Private School in Delhi

A 17-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by a friend and a security guard inside the premises of a private school which was closed for summer vacation, in east Delhi’s Jagatpuri area, police revealed on Tuesday.

In her complaint, the girl told the police that her friend took her to the school on the pretext of getting her a job there.

The prime accused, who was known to the girl for at least a year, met the girl at a local market on Monday and told her that he had set an appointment with someone at the private school.

7. Armed Dacoits ‘Checkmate’ Cash Management Firm and Decamp with Rs 5 Crores

Seven masked men barged into the office of a Thane-based cash management firm and ran away with Rs 5 crore in cash, in one of the biggest dacoities of Maharashtra, DNA reported.

The armed dacoits first took the guard as hostage and then clipped the wires of CCTV cameras.

DNA quoted an official from Wagle estate police station as saying:

The robbers had a thorough knowledge about the office and where the CCTV cameras were. This helped them in getting rid of the only security guard and pinning down the employees, before fleeing with the cash trunks.

8. Three Chargesheeted Three Months After Dalit Minor’s Death in Rajasthan

Three months after the death of a 17-year-old Dalit girl in Bikaner, police charge-sheeted three people – physical training instructor of Bikaner’s Jain Adarsh Teachers’ Training Institute for Girls – Vijendra Singh, hostel warden Priya Shukla and her husband Pragya Prateek Shukla for abetment of suicide, Hindustan Times reported.

The police initially claimed that Delta Meghwal had committed suicide by drowning, however, no water was found in her lungs.

The police filed the charge sheet, on Tuesday claiming that Delta was not murdered but forced to commit suicide.

9. Hacker Minor From Chhattisgarh Arrested by Cyber Crime Police

A 23-year-old manager of a top MNC got the shock of her life when a stranger sent her personal photos and videos on her Whatsapp account in May, blackmailing that she give him money if she didn’t want the photos to be made public.

According to The Indian Express, investigations conducted by Cyber Crime Police of Cyberabad led to a 17-year-old boy from Chhattisgarh who had hacked her social media accounts.

The minor who was sent to juvenile homes twice earlier with connection to similar cases was arrested by the police.
