The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has reported that there was a possible nexus between the former gangster Vikas Dubey, some members of the police force and other government servants, Hindustan Times reported on Thursday, 5 November.

The SIT’s 3,200 page report reveals that 80 people have been accused of having close connection with Vikas Dubey so far, out of which 50 are police officers, India Today reported.

Further, the report also mentions that few policemen kept Dubey informed about the proceedings against him in police stations, and that he was informed of the raid beforehand.

This report comes to light after 8 policemen, including DSP Devendra Mishra, were ambushed and killed in Kanpur on 3 July 2020 while a raid at Dubey’s house was underway.

Uttar Pradesh home department officials have also said that the report was submitted to the state government on Wednesday, 4 November.
