1. Six Booked For Fire Tragedy in Kollam

Six people have been booked under attempt to murder and other offenses in connection with the Putttingal Devi temple fire tragedy at Kollam in Kerala.

Those arrested include members of the managing committee of the temple and associates of firework contractors.

The death toll from the tragedy has risen to 109 and about 300 people are still receiving treatment for burns and other injuries in various hospitals.

2. 43-Year-Old Father Arrested For Raping Daughter

A 43-year-old man allegedly raped his 12-year-old daughter for almost a year in Bhiwandi,Thane before the minor girl lodged a complaint.

The man sexually assaulted his daughter in May 2015 for the first time, when their family had gone to attend a marraige in Gulbarga.

The accussed was arrested on Sunday.

3. Tribal Girl Shot Dead With an Arrow

A minor girl was shot dead with an arrow at Chhota Bhavta village near Alirjpur in Madhya Pradesh. The 13-year-old girl, Surmada Bhil, her brother Nirmal and uncle Suresh had gone to get water from a hand-operated borewell late in the night on Sunday, when the owner of the borewell Inder Singh (55), and his son Mesta (30) got into an argument with them.

The owner and son repotedly began shooting arrows at Surmada, Nirmal and Suresh, following the argument. One of the arrows hit Surmada’s left eye and she died on the spot.

4. Indian-Origin Man Murdered in London

An Indian-origin man’s throat was slashed in West London near his home. A few witnesses have described the situation as a petty row over a small sum of money.

The 28-year-old Sahil Roy was declared dead after an emergency crew tried to save his life for more than an hour.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the case. The South London police station has taken him into custody.

5. Man Attacks Wife With a Blade

A man allegedly attacked his wife with a blade near a local court in Rajendranagar, Hyderabad on Monday.

The duo had gone to court due to a domestic violence case. Both of them got into an argument after coming out of the court Nagendranath decided to attack Saujanya.

6. Unidentified People Shoot Prisoner Dead

Some unidentified people shot a prisoner in the district court premises at Muzaffarpur on Bihar on Monday.

The prisoner, Suraj, who was shot from a close range, died on the spot. He was appearing in court for being involved in a muder case.T

7. Rice Trader Shot Dead in Virar

Three unidentified persons shot a rice trader outside his shop at Virar on Sunday. The victim, Ashok Ratanlal Shah, who was 50 years old, was attacked when he stepped out of his shop with cash of Rs 7 to 8 lakh.

The unidentified persons pushed him inside and one of them shot him from point-blank range. They took his bag, which had the cash and fled the scene on a motorbike.

8. Woman Registers FIR Against Fiance For Dowry

A 20-year-old girl, Salma registered an FIR against her fiance, who had allegedly refused to marry her before he received Rs 5 lakh and an SUV from the bride’s family.

A truck driver’s daughter, Salma stood up to societal pressure at Fatehpur Beri in south Delhi and filed the FIR. Interstingly, the groom is the son of an Uttar Pradesh police officer.

9. Indian Man Dies Under Mysterious Circumstances in Pakistan

An Indian who was kept in custody in a Lahore jail for more than 20 years died under mysterious circumstances on Monday.

The 50-year-old, Kirpal Singh was in prison on spying charges. Reportedly, Kirpal was arrested after he crossed the Wagah border into Pakistan in 1992.

Kirpal Singh was found dead in his cell in early hours of Monday at Kot Lakhpat Jail.
