A day ahead of the first phase of the Chhattisgarh Assembly polls, Maoists reportedly triggered six IED blasts in the Kanker district of the state, on 11 November, Sunday, killing a BSF sub-inspector, Hindustan Times reported.
The blast occurred at around 8:30 am between Kattakal and Come villages when a BSF team was on routine patrol, the report said.
BSF sub-inspector, Mahendra Singh was rushed to a hospital in Raipur with splinter and bullet injuries where he succumbed to his injuries.

The area where the blasts took place comes under Antahgarh Assembly constituency from where the Bharatiya Janata Part (BJP) fielded MP Vikram Usendi.
Earlier on 9 November, a day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in the state, Maoists reportedly blew up a bus killing a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jawan and four civilians in Dantewada.
