1. Girl Says Kept Locked in House, Gangraped

An 18-year-old girl from West Bengal, who was lured to Delhi on the pretext of a job, was allegedly gangraped by two men in southeast Delhi’s Govindpuri area, police said.

DCP (southeast) Chinmoy Biswal said the two accused, Ashiqul Sheikh alias Raju (24) and Raju Sheikh (30), were arrested from Duggal Colony in Khanpur on Tuesday.

According to the girl’s complaint, she was brought to Delhi a few months ago and was confined at a house in Govindpuri. She alleged that a man, who works with a placement agency, took her to Delhi where he allegedly raped her.

2. Sohrabuddin ‘Fake’ Encounter Case: One More Prosecution Witness Turns Hostile, Takes Count to 45

One more prosecution witness on Monday turned hostile in the Sohrabuddin Shaikh alleged fake encounter case, taking the count of hostile witnesses to 45.

The witness, a schoolteacher, had in 2010 assisted the CBI in translating statements given by eyewitnesses on the abduction of Sohrabuddin, his wife Kausarbi and associate Tulsiram Prajapati from a luxury bus on November 23, 2005.

Two of those eyewitnesses had turned hostile in December claiming that they did not see any co-passenger on the bus being abducted by policemen.

3. 11-Year-Old Boy Found Dead in Mumbai Suburbs

The body of an 11-year-old boy was found in a deserted place in Mandala, Mankhurd on Monday morning.

Jeet Sharma lived in a slum area in Mankhurd with parents and brothers. His father, who works as a mason, is currently out of town.

Sharma had been missing from his home since Sunday night. His body was discovered by a garbage cleaner near a temple, in the vicinity of a kiln that had been shut for several years.

Before his body was discovered, his family members in the early hours of Monday approached the police and reported him as missing.

4. J Dey Murder Case: Chhota Rajan Questions Veracity of His Voice Samples as Evidence

Underworld don Chhota Rajan has questioned the legitimacy of his voice samples collected by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as evidence in the murder case of journalist J Dey. Rajan’s lawyers, Anshuman Sinha and Hasnain Kazi, on Monday began their final arguments in the murder case by questioning the primary evidence connecting Rajan to the crime.

As per the prosecution’s case, Rajan had ordered the murder of Dey owing to animosity between the two.

Dey had published several articles against Rajan, which had enraged the gangster, claimed the prosecution.

5. Bombay HC Cancels Bail of Andheri School Trustee Accused of Sexually Assaulting 3-Year-Old

The Bombay High Court on Monday cancelled bail granted to the founder trustee of an international school in Andheri, who has been booked for “aggravated sexual assault” of a three-year-old kindergarten student.

The trustee, a French national, will have to surrender immediately before a special Pocso (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act) court , as Justice Revati Mohite-Dere rejected his lawyer’s plea for some time to surrender. “Once I come to the conclusion that the order granting bail is perverse, there is no question of granting time to surrender to Respondent No. 1 [the trustee],” Mohite-Dere said, dismissing the request.

6. Teens Use Sex Clip to Blackmail, Rape Minor

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested after a 16-year-old girl’s father approached Kurla police accusing at least three teenagers of raping her, filming the act, and exploiting her for months with the threat of circulating the video.

The boy detained on Saturday has been booked for rape, blackmail, and under the stringent POCSO Act since the girl is a minor. But since he is also a minor, he was produced before the Juvenile Justice Board and remanded to an observation home.

7. Man Beats Mother to Death, Injures Brothers at Greater Noida Residence

A 35-year-old man allegedly killed his mother and grievously injured his two brothers at their house in Rasoolpur village of Greater Noida, over a property dispute, the police said.

According to the police, the accused Ajeet, 35, wanted to live separately and had been fighting with his family members. Shakuntala Devi, 60, was asleep when her son attacked her, the police said.

“The incident took place around 6 am when the family was asleep. Ajeet attacked his mother with an iron rod. Her cries for help brought his two younger brothers to the spot. When they tried to intervene, Ajeet attacked them as well,” Shalendra Pratap Singh, station house officer, Jarcha police station, said.

8. Dropout Hired as Supervisor Arrested for SSC Paper Leak

An exam supervisor became the fifth suspect to be arrested in the SSC question paper leak of 19 March on Monday.

Prashant Dhotre (22), a dropout hired as an exam supervisor at Kiddies' Paradise school in Mumbra, from where the paper leak happened, was arrested by investigating officer Daya Nayak.

Dhotre decided to return to Mumbra thinking the matter had cooled so many days after the arrest of maths teacher Firoz Khan (47) and others, said the police.

9. Gurgaon: 50-Year-Old Woman Found Dead with Throat Slit in Sohna Home

A 50-year old woman was found murdered in her home in Bhoodpada village in Sohna tehsil, 30 kms from Gurgaon, on Monday afternoon.

The throat of the woman, identified as Krishna Devi, was slit and the body was semi-naked, the police said.

She was alone at home at the time of the incident and her body was found in the corridor of the rented accommodation by her husband, who works in a tailoring shop in Sohna, the police said.
