Banaras Hindu University has courted controversy, with yet another examination question paper making headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Students alleged that a Master of Arts in History examination paper contained questions on Triple Talaq, Halala and Alauddin Khilji. The 9 December paper comes days after the controversial MA (Political Science) question paper that questioned students on GST in Arthshastra,
The questions posed reportedly included: What is Halala in Islam; The rate of wheat as fixed by Alauddin Khilji; Discuss Teen Talaq and Halala as a social evil in Islam.
"The university found nothing wrong with the set of questions asked. I felt that the questions were offensive," Vikas, a BHU student, told ANI.
BHU's Assistant Professor Rajiv Srivastava however, disagreed with the claims.

Srivastava further compared the examination pattern of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) saying that Islam has demerits that must be known.
"When we teach history of Islam, we will have to teach such things as well. People like Sanjay Leela Bhansali won't teach history to students," the professor told ANI.
