A 14-year-old boy was stabbed in his thigh and chest by two of his classmates outside their school in Delhi’s Rohini area while he was on his way back home on Friday evening, reports Times of India.
Amar Farooq was in a critical condition for two days and stabilised only on Sunday evening. The culprits are currently absconding.
Farooq, who was admitted to the government school just last year, said the two boys had been harassing him since the day he had joined school. They used to call him names and also beat him up if he protested.
On Friday 27 October, one of the accused threatened Amar out in the open.
“I turned around and asked them to stop. They threatened to teach me a lesson outside school. I didn’t pay heed and after school got over left for home. I had just entered a park outside the school when they surrounded me and started to assault me. When I retaliated, they stabbed me thrice,” Farooq told Times of India.
None of the people who witnessed this came to Farooq’s help.
A little later in the evening when the news of a profusely bleeding boy spread, one of his friends took him inside the school with the help of a few others. He was admitted to Ambedkar hospital from there.
There are no CCTV cameras installed where the incident took place.
Rishi Pal, DCP (Rohini), told the daily that teams have been formed to investigate the matter and get hold of the perpetrators.
A case of attempt to murder has been registered at Vijay Vihar Police station.
