Militants Hurl Grenades, Attack Army Camp in J&K’s Bandipora

Militants attacked an army camp in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora by hurling grenades late Tuesday, 5 June, sparking of a gunfight, reported IANS.

According to the Jammu and Kashmir police, the camp of 13 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), located in Hajin area of Bandipora, was attacked by militants.

Four to six terrorists reportedly came from two sides of the camp and the Hajin police station, firing eight Under Barrel Grenade Launchers (UBGL) at the army and the police.

Attacks Continue

Just a day earlier on Tuesday, 5 June, 23 people, including eight security personnel, were injured in grenade attacks by militants in Pulwama and Shopian districts of Kashmir. On Monday, at least 16 people, including four policemen, were injured in a grenade attack in Batapora Chowk, Shopian district, reported PTI.

According to The Times of India, Monday’s attack targeted a police party stationed in the busy market area. The grenades missed the target, exploding on the roadside, injuring many.
