17 Accused Arrested, 1 Surrenders in Bulandshahr Violence Case
A total of 17 people have been arrested while an accused has surrendered in connection to the violence that took place in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr earlier this month.
The accused have been arrested under sections 147, 148, 149, 124 A, 332, 333, 353, 341, 336, 307, 302, 427, 436, 395 of the Indian Penal Code.

General Strike Affects Normal Life In Manipur
Normal life was affected in Manipur on Monday, 17 December by a 24-hour general strike called by the Maoist Communists Party, Manipur (MCPM) demanding renaming of Manipur.
The organisation, however, did not provide any specific name.
The strike passed off peacefully except burning of a two-wheeler by supporters of the shut down at Waithou area in Thoubal district, police sources said.

One More Arrested In Connection With Yamuna Expressway Land Fraud Case
The Gautam Buddh Nagar Police arrested one more accused in alleged Rs 126-crore land fraud case linked to the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), officials said.
Satendra, a native of Bulandshahr, was arrested from Modinagar in Ghaziabad for alleged fraud and corruption in the land deal, a senior police officer said.
His arrest comes close on the heels of the arrest of two directors of Data Infrastructure – Ramesh Bansal and Satendra Chauhan – which is a key firm named in the FIR over the land fraud.
