Hong Kong Ban on Masks Sparks Violent Clashes, Rail Shutdown
Hong Kong's entire mass transit rail system was suspended on Saturday after a night of violence sparked by a ban on pro-democracy protesters wearing face masks, as the government imposed emergency powers not used in more than half a century.
The ban was aimed at quelling nearly four months of unrest but instead sparked widespread clashes and vows of defiance, with a 14-year-old boy reportedly shot and wounded.

DMK Demands Withdrawal of Sedition Case Against Celebrities
DMK president M K Stalin demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should take steps to withdraw the FIR filed in Bihar against celebrities, to protect democracy and basic features of the Constitution.
Condemning the sedition charge against the celebrities, the leader of the opposition in Tamil Nadu said labeling them as anti-nationals for writing an open letter to Modi, voicing concern over growing incidents of mob lynching, was unacceptable.
