The ongoing imbroglio between the Delhi Government and Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung has taken yet another ugly turn.

Jung had reportedly cleared IPS Officer Mukesh Kumar Meena’s name to take charge as the Chief of ACB, superseding the Delhi government’s appointee - SS Yadav.

However, the AAP govt alleged rejected Jung’s appointment.

Deputy CM Manish Sisodia went a step ahead to allege that Meena had tried to frame him in farmer Gajendra Singh’s suicide.

No sooner had the appointment been made by the LG, that the Directorate of Vigilance sent MK Meena back to Delhi police as the post given to him by Najeeb Jung was not ‘sanctioned’ by the Delhi government.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had recently appointed SS Yadav as the Commissioner of ACB.

While the Vigilance Directorate maintained that MK Meena’s transfer had not been approved by the Delhi Government, sources stated according to this Hindustan Times report, the government was well aware of the transfer.

But, the drama didn’t end there.

The Delhi government has transferred Principal Secretary for Home, Dharampal, who had authorised the LG’s order on Meena’s appointment.

The Delhi government has asked Dharampal to report to the Union Home Ministry with immediate effect. However, sources in the LG’s office said that the transfer is invalid since only the LG and the Home Ministry were authorised to do it.
