1. Telangana HC Gives Interim Relief to Directors in Sujana Case

The Telangana High Court, on Tuesday, 19 March, gave relief to directors of seven firms that were alleged to be shell companies of Sujana Universal Group of Industries.

This would prohibit the Central GST officials from arresting the petitioner directors until the pronounce its decision on the petitions filed by them challenging the  notices issued by  the CGST authority.

2. Partygoers’ Laser Confuses Pilot

A group of minors celebrating a birthday near the Shamshabad airport used laser lights that put the lives of passengers on an incoming aircraft at risk.

A senior government officer said that an international flight from Dubai was about to land late on Saturday night at Shamshabad when pilot was distracted by a laser light used by the party-makers, which left him confused as to the location of the runway.

3. Over 100 SHE Teams Working Incognito for Women’s Safety: DGP

At least 100 SHE Teams are working incognito in Hyderabad city alone for the safety and security of women, said Director General of Police M Mahender Reddy.

“One doesn’t know where they are and how they function. The teams merge in the crowd and nab the miscreants after recording video of their act,” he said after launching the Cyber Rakshak programme here on Monday. Telangana State SHE Team, in association with End Now Foundation and Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK), launched Cyber Rakshak programme.

4. Cops Catch 4 in Illegal Money Lending Racket

Police, on Tuesday, apprehended four persons for running an illegal money lending racket. However, the prime accused, P. Elango, remains at large.

Elango had been running the business under the name of Sri Venkateswara Finance, Sai Krishna Finance, Om Ganesh Finance and Sai Akil Finance, without taking permission from the state government, according to the cops.

5. Commuters Worried About Hyderabad Metro Frequency

The much-awaited Metro line, which is set to commence operations on Wednesday, will have a duration of 12 minutes between each train, unlike the frequency in the stretches from Nagole to Miyapur and LB Nagar to Ameerpet. Commuters claim that this will only be useful for those who travel to Hitec city and no other stations in between.

Mr B. Naresh Yadav, President of IT FAN (IT Facility and Admin Manager Network), said that frequency has been a matter of concern for those who commute to work during peak hours, and argues that the metro’s frequency should be enhanced between 4 pm to 8 pm for the employees who commute to home from office. He also mentioned that the metro authorities have temporarily asked commuters to park their vehicles in a mall near Hitec City junction and that the issue will be resolved in two months after inauguration.
